New Year and a New Start 2015

Today is the first day of 2015. Time for a new start. I had a rough 2014 and need to put it behind me. We started today pretty well. Took the barking fur children for a bark with the girls (the cat would not have appreciated being put on a leash). Then came home and I did a short ballet inspired workout. Still need to do our push up, squat, and ab challenges for the day.
My before picture. Have to ignore the pigtails, my hair has been irritating me in a ponytail lately so trying something different for my workout times.
My walking buddies and I went for a cold New Years Day walk.

Day 8 Some Progress Made
Today is day 8 in my journey. So far I have gotten rid of almost 4 pounds. Yesterday I finally made it to they gym (Stupid cold weather and snow are really causing problems). I did 20 minutes on the treadmill and then went to yoga class. I am definitely feeling it today in some of my muscles that have not had much work in  a couple of months. I had planned to go to the gym and do yoga again today, but alas the stupid snow problem has the kiddos off school again today so I am doing some things on the Wii fit and going to do some yoga on my own later. I would have much rather gone to class because the teachers push me more than I will push myself. Hopefully the kiddos will be back to school tomorrow so that I can go to my water aerobics class in the morning.
Journey to a Healthier Me Introduction Post
The start of a new year means that I need to get my self in gear. I have been overweight for quite a while now and no longer have any excuse. The baby is 5 now, so the baby weight excuse does not cut it anymore. I could blame it on my health issues, but that would be a cop out.
In the last year I have gotten rid of (I don't like to say lost, because lost things can be found) about 40 pounds. This seems like a lot if it wasn't for the fact that when I started, I was almost 100 pounds heavier than I was 11 years ago before I was pregnant with my first child. That is a ridiculous amount of weight to be on my poor body, no wonder I have joint problems.
My goals for this year are to get rid of a whole lot of fat and to get my body much healthier. I plan to go to the gym at least 3 times a week (I am striving for 5, but I know that life with 3 kids can sometimes make it difficult to go places when I need to). I am also going to work to eat healthier.
